    Fall Yoga at Maki House with Joan Smith

    HATHA YOGA

    • Mondays: 9:30am – 10:30am, September 14 – December 14 (no class October 12)
    • Wednesdays: 11:30am – 12:30pm, September 16 – December 16 (no class October 14)

    Cost: $135 for each 13 week session (includes a $5 community activity fee). $15 per class as a drop-in, space permitting.

    Class Style: A gently paced hatha flow practice that focuses on breathing, postures and movement. Students will be led through a series of standing, seated and lying down poses that are designed to promote body awareness, and build stability, flexibility and strength. All levels are welcome. 

    YOGA NIDRA and MEDITATION

    • Thursdays: 6:30pm – 7:30 pm, September 24, October 22, November 26

    Cost: $25 per practice, or sign up for all three for $60

    Class Style: A calming, grounding introductory practice aimed at unwinding, slowing down and feeling more at ease. The practice begins with a short, gentle sequence of yoga poses, followed by Yoga Nidra lying on your mat for a resting body scan, and ends with a seated meditation.

    INSTRUCTOR

    Joan holds a 200-hour hatha yoga teacher training certificate and has been practicing yoga since 2007. She is also trained in Yoga Nidra, Yoga Meditation, breathwork, and Kundalini Yoga. Joan understands that her role is to create a physically, emotionally and spiritually welcoming environment, supporting and guiding each student’s journey through their practice, allowing them to explore their place within each pose.
