    Happy New Year everyone,

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 (weekend of Feb.11/12 in case of inclement weather). Inclement weather will be called if the daytime weather forecast calls for either above zero temperatures, more than 5 cm of snowfall or a wind chill factor of -20C. It will take place at Lakeview Park, 62A Horner Drive, Nepean.

The cost will be $20/person and you can register individually, or as a foursome. There is room for a maximum of 16 teams (64 people) so if you plan to participate, register early. Feel free to pass on this invitation to anyone you know that might be interested. All registration fees will be donated to the Capital City Condors (https://capitalcitycondors.org/). If for whatever reason you are unable to participate, please consider donating to this very worthy cause. While the curling is taking place on the side rink, the Capital City Condors will be playing 3-4 exhibition hockey games on the main boarded rink. Hot dogs, soft drinks, and other snacks will also be provided.

Lots of fun at the Lakeview Curling Bonspiel on Saturday

Each game will last 4 ends (45 minutes) and every team will play a minimum of 3 games. There will be a backyard open fire pit to keep warm between games and a heated mobile trailer beside the rink. It’s important to keep in mind that no previous curling experience is required and for those of us who never could slide out of a hack, we have push sticks that allow you to remain standing while shooting. Due to the nature of this event taking place on a glossy ice surface, participants are strongly advised to wear helmets (ski/snowboard, hockey or bicycle).

Payment can be made by interac transfer to (aag@rogers.com), cheque (payable to Al Arseneault) or cash. Start times, a schedule and other information will be released by February 1. For further information and to register, please contact Betty or Al Arseneault at aag@rogers.com or by telephone at 613 851 1294.
