Do you have feedback on support for the winter trail?

The Ottawa West Winter Trail (OWWT) is a winter trail groomed by Kanata Nordic for winter activities such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Our community association donated $500 towards maintenance of the OWWT this winter. Our donation helps groom the Crystal Beach Lakeview section, that is, the path that runs south of and parallel to Corkstown Rd. and Aero Dr. What are your thoughts on the winter trail? Did you use it? Whether you used it or not, do you think it’s an asset to the community?

    Please send us your comments.

I think the Ottawa West Winter Trail is a definite asset to the community. I use it on a regular basis, and I see more people using the local section now that it is groomed. I would like to see it groomed a little more often but our section through Crystal Beach/Lakeview is on the periphery of their territory, and it is all done by volunteers.

Our family made weekly use of the Ottawa winter Trail for cross country skiing. Really appreciated that it was well groomed and kept in such good condition. We are a family of six and we do both classic and skating style cross country skiing for which grooming is required And appreciated. It is a tremendous asset to our community and encourages people to get outside and enjoy the nature near our homes. There are a few other recreational opportunities nearby. In the spring and summer, we go biking on the path several times a week. Thanks

I’m so glad you donated this money to the trail. The trail is an incredible thing for our community and the people who care for it work very hard to make excellent trails. I ski on the trails regularly and can’ believe my good fortune every time. I think it makes sense to groom the section beside Aero/Corkstown because that connects OWWT to the Britannia Trail. Thank you again for donating this money. I hope the CBLCA will be come a yearly supporter of the OWWT.

I used the trail many times this winter and really appreciated the volunteers who provided their time and expertise in making the trails useable for the community.
We are very fortunate to be able to use the bike trails for winter recreation. Thank you to both OWWT and BWT who worked in partnership to make the ski network.
Our local community and those who come to access these trails are very thankful to those that make this possible.
Thank You CBLCA for supporting this winter activity that allows residents to get out and stay healthy in our backyard. Please continue to support for 2025-26.

100% this is an asset for our community. We don’t need to travel anywhere else but home for amazing winter outdoor recreation. My family uses this trail multiple times a week and I donate personally. This is an investment CBLCA should continue to make.

I enjoy running the wonderful trails in and close to our neighbourhood. Usually, my winter running is restricted to streets. With the groomed winter trail, I was able to run this winter on some of the trails which was very enjoyable.
Thank you to everybody who made this possible!
