    Fall Yoga at Maki House

    Gentle Hatha Flow Yoga with Joan Smith

    When:

    • Mondays: 9:30am to 10:30am during Sep. (11, 18, 25), Oct. (16, 23, 30), Nov. (6, 13, 20, 27), and Dec. (4, 11). Note; there will be no classes on Oct. 2 and 9. Wait-listed.
    • Tuesdays: 9:30am to 10:30am during Oct. (10, 17. 24), Nov. (7, 14, 21, 28), and Dec. (5, 12). Note; there will be no class on Oct. 31. Registration is through the City of Ottawa’s Recreation and Parks website.
    • Wednesdays: 11:30am to 12:30pm during Sep. (6, 13, 20), Oct. (11, 18, 25), Nov. (1, 8, 15, 22, 29), and Dec. (6, 13). Note; there will be no classes on Sep 27 and Oct. 4). Wait-listed.

    Where: Mondays and Wednesday at Maki House, 19 Leeming Drive in Crystal Beach/Lakeview Park. Tuesdays at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre, 35 Stafford Road in Bells Corners

    Registration: To register for Mondays and Wednesdays at Maki House, please contact Joan Smith by email at smithjc@sympatico.ca.  To register for Tuesdays please register online with the City of Ottawa’s Recreation and Parks website, course #73073.

    Cost: $120 for the Monday 12-week session, and $130 for the Wednesday 13-week session. $90.48 plus tax for the Tuesday 9-week session with the City. Seniors 65+ receive a 10% discount.

    Class Style: A gently paced hatha flow practice that focuses on breathing, postures and movement. Students will be led through a series of standing, seated and lying down poses that are designed to promote body awareness, and build stability, flexibility and strength. All levels are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat.

    Instructor: Joan Smith holds a 200-hour hatha yoga teacher training certificate and has been practicing yoga since 2007. Joan understands that her role is to create a physically, emotionally and spiritually welcoming environment, supporting and guiding each student’s journey through their practice, allowing them to explore their place within each pose.

    Classical Hatha Yoga in the Sivananda tradition

    Join your neighbors Monday nights for a 90-minute yoga class with breathing exercises, warm ups, steady poses and a deep relaxation. Everyone is welcome. 

    • Mondays:  7:30-9:00pm, Sept 11th – Dec 18th *** 15 weeks of yoga
    • Cost: $225 + HST = $254.25. Includes $5 maki house membership if you have not already paid
    • Drop in for $20
    • Bring a mat and any props you might need to sit comfortably.

    Fall Yoga at Maki House

    This all-levels classical Sivananda hatha yoga class is great for beginner, intermediate and advanced yogis! Reduce stress, anxiety and tension in the body. Increase flexibility and strength. Improve balance, sleep and breathing.

    • Wednesdays: 9-10am. Sept 13 – Dec 20 (15 weeks)
    • Cost: $203.40 for all 15 weeks + $5 Maki fee for all new yogis.
    • $15 drop-in per class.
