Last fall a detour along Corkstown Road was added to the Trans Canada multi-use pathway (the Watts Creek Pathway) between Crystal Beach Drive and Moodie Station. CBLCA was informed that the detour would end in February.
However, this spring we noticed that the work was still not completed, so we contacted the National Capital Commission (NCC) for information.
The NCC told us that they will replace a culvert and add a new pedestrian bridge on the Watts Creek Pathway. The work is scheduled to take place from March 13 to May 6, 2024.
More information is available on the NCC website.
Please be cautious cycling or driving along Corkstown Road with the additional traffic due to the detour.

We need better lighting at night as the road has been narrowed and oncoming traffic isn’t visible until the vehicle is in the bend.
Should a cyclist be in the area for sure they couldn’t be seen. Difficult in both directions but travelling west on Corkstown is the worst. The lights are in place, just not turned on!
