    Spring Yoga at Maki House with Joan Smith

    HATHA YOGA 

    • Mondays: 9:30am – 10:30am, April 27 – June 1 (includes class on Victoria Day holiday, May 18)
    • Wednesdays: 11:30am – 12:30pm, April 29 – June 3

    Cost: $65 for each 6 week session (includes a $5 community activity fee). If you cannot join Monday May 18, the cost is $55.  

    Class Style: A gently paced hatha flow practice that focuses on breathing, postures and movement. Students will be led through a series of standing, seated and lying down poses that are designed to promote body awareness, and build stability, flexibility and strength. All levels are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat. 

    YOGA NIDRA and MEDITATION 

    • Thursdays: 6:30pm – 7:30 pm, April 30, May 28, June 25

    Cost: $25 per practice, or sign up for all three for $60

    Class Style: A calming, grounding introductory practice aimed at unwinding, slowing down and feeling more at ease. The practice begins with a gentle sequence of yoga poses, followed by yoga nidra lying on your mat for a resting body scan, and ends with a seated meditation.

    Instructor: Joan Smith holds a 200-hour hatha yoga teacher training certificate and has been practicing yoga since 2007. Joan understands that her role is to create a physically, emotionally and spiritually welcoming environment, supporting and guiding each student’s journey through their practice, allowing them to explore their place within each pose.
