    President’s Note – April 2023

    Hello!

I’ve recently had discussions with the new General Manager of the Nepean Sailing Club about increasing engagement between their organization and our community. Over the past few months, they’ve opened their doors to folks out nordic skiing along the Ottawa Winter Trails to warm up, have a coffee, etc. As this seemed to be a big hit, they’re looking to keep this going by welcoming any active walking groups out enjoying the NCC paths as the weather warms up. That being said, if there IS a walking group  in the community  (or you’ve been inspired to get one started), please reach out to the Nepean Sailing Club at cgm@nsc.ca and see how you can benefit from/enjoy their facilities.

    Sincerely,

    Nicolas Martinez

Hi Nicolas – I have been a member of the Lakeview Community pretty much all my life. My husband and I purchased my parents home 32 years ago, which was my family home growing up. Does the community association still collect community association fees to help fund events etc. I have not contributed any $$ in years. If they still do this I can offer my services and do some of my street where I know alot of my neighbours.

Thank you for doing this, Nic. The sailing club’s a huge asset to the community. I really enjoyed the meetings the community association had there.
