Greenbelt
The NCC began work on the Greenbelt Master Plan in the fall of 2025 and are now seeking
public input on their vision and guiding principles. They are holding three open houses, and
they will be posting an online survey. The next round of consultation open to everyone will be
until the spring of 2027.
NCC Open Houses
All open houses are drop-in from 3:30 to 8:00 pm. (You do not need to register.)
- Nepean. Wed. May 20. Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Avenue. Hall B.
- Gloucester. Thurs. May 21. St. Laurent Shopping Centre, 1200 St. Laurent Boulevard. In the
Atrium across from Aldo and Pandora (level 1) - Kanata. Tues. May 26. Richcraft Recreation Complex, 4101 Innovation Drive. In the lobby
area of the Complex.
Crystal Beach Lakeview is pretty much surrounded by green space, mostly Greenbelt, and that
green space shapes the character of our community and our quality of life. The National Capital
Commission is increasingly under pressure to sell off the Greenbelt—including “our” Greenbelt,
such as land east of Moodie Drive or the Wesley Clover land—for housing or transportation
corridors. It’s important that we take an interest.
