CBLCA is in the middle of a very busy season. On October 11, we hosted an all candidates meeting for a sell out in-person crowd and over 300 views on Facebook Live. And before that we took part in a City of Ottawa Planning Committee meeting to ask that the NCC and the City make sure, going forward, to undertake improved environmental studies and community consultations on changes such as those proposed for Wesley Clover Parks (WCP). While we support and will really enjoy what WCP is proposing – concerts, for example – we hope for better processes in the future.
Now we are focused on our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Nepean Sailing Club the evening of Wednesday, November 28th, from 7:00 to 9:00. You can learn more about the AGM here, such as nominations to the Executive team and what we have planned for the evening, including thanking Mark Taylor for his years as our Councillor, and welcoming Theresa Kavanagh as our new Councillor. You will see that you can be part of an engaging, fun way to build on what you told us in the community survey, socialize with your neighbours over beer or soft drinks and snacks, and enjoy another opportunity to make our community a great place to live.
We know that it is not just CBLCA that is busy. All of you are too. Rink boards are getting set up in our parks for the hockey season. Gardens are being put to bed. Kids are deep into fall activities and our Tuesday afternoon Friendship Club activities at Maki House are in full swing, just to name a bit of the energy I see around us. And then there is Hallowe’en! Have a safe and fun evening, all you ghosts and goblins!
See you on November 28th!
