    President’s Message – January 2024

    Hello!

I know I’m a bit late getting this newsletter out to the community but life can get busy around the holiday’s when you’re helping Santa wrap gifts. That being said, I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

With January upon us we’re fast approaching our cornerstone community events – Winter Carnival (January 28th, 2024).

New to the Crystal Beach Lakeview area? What is the Winter Carnival you ask?  The Winter Carnival is a FREE indoor/outdoor community event held every winter at Maki Park and includes many family friendly activities including skating, outdoor fire pit, outdoor games and concessions run by our local Scouts troop.  Back for 2024 (for those with a sweet tooth) will be a silent cake auction in support of Guides. There are activities throughout the day (see below) and most of all, it’s a lot of fun!

Some of the activities we have planned for this year can be found below:

10:00am to 12:00pm – Horse drawn sleigh ride

    11:45-12:30 – Musical Act

    12:30-2:30  – Mad Science

Throughout event: Kids arts and crafts and play area

Throughout event: Fire Pit and Marshmallow Roasting

    Throughout event: Games

Events like the Winter Carnival bring people of all ages together and create an atmosphere where people can connect with their neighbours.

However, we wouldn’t be able to serve our community in this way without important partners/sponsors like Patti Brown of ReMax Realty who help to fund these events. Today, I would ask if you or someone you know that operates a business in/around CBL, that you consider supporting this event as an official sponsor.

In return, the CBLCA will offer to feature your company name and logo as an official sponsor on all advertising for the events, including on our website, in our community e-newsletter, and on the community facebook page.  If you select to be a lead sponsor for an event or an activity, you can place a business sign directly at the activity, or at our CBLCA “info” table as a general sponsor.

Sponsorship inquiries can be sent directly to me at CBLCAPresident@gmail.com. Looking forward to seeing you all there around the fire!

    Sincerely,

    Nicolas Martinez
