I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the winter wonderland that is our nation’s capital in February! While the canal may be closed this year, our community was able to host The Harbour Harvest Ice Fishing Derby at the Nepean Sailing Club over the family day weekend. This was an excellent event organized by Dan of Drop in Sports, in support of the Ottawa Riverkeeper, Scouts Canada and the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization. If you missed it this year I’d like to recommend it to you and your family next year!
With that being said, the Nepean Sailing Club (NSC) is a fantastic hub for activity within our community. While many of us pass by it every day on our way to, or from, some other destination. The NSC has recently begun to reopen their doors to non-members out enjoying the winter trails, and will be hosting live music in their members lounge throughout March.
