The annual Crystal Beach Lakeview Winter Carnival is always a great time to get outside, get active, and
spend time with neighbours. Thanks to the generosity of our event sponsors, the day’s activities are free
of charge. Here are a few details about the day’s special events:
10:00am – 12:00pm
Horse-drawn sleigh rides in Maki Park
Enjoy a fun and relaxing sleigh ride through the snow! This activity is sponsored by Patti Brown of CHELL
TEAM RE/MAX Hallmark Realty Group, Brokerage.
11:15am-12:00pm
The Doug Barr Children’s Show in Maki House Sullivan Room
Come join Doug Barr on a whacky Musical romp. Children’s Musical-Get Up and Dance Comedy at it’s best. Doug’s songs have been ‘covered’ by Mr. Dressup and Sharon, Lois & Bram. Best suited for children aged 3-9yrs.

Mad Science in Maki House Sullivan Room
This spellbinding special event introduces children to the principles of air and pressure. The Mad Scientist will perform “tricks” of science before your very eyes and explain how pressure affects the world around us. Best suited for children aged 4-12.

Visit the canteen courtesy of the Scouts in Gravelle Room to purchase coffee, hot chocolate, hot dogs
and other snacks.
● Days for Girls Charity Cake Auction in Maki House Gravelle Room
Visit the cakes on display in Gravelle Room to place a bid on your cake of choice! Winners will be
contacted for cake pick up at 3:00pm. Bid on a delicious cake knowing that you have helped ease the
pain of period poverty for millions around the world. All funds raised will be used to purchase materials to make washable, sustainable, menstrual hygiene kits. With your help, the Nepean Days for Girls Team is creating a world with dignity, health, and opportunity for all. Days for Girls is a charity made up of women and men sewing menstrual hygiene kits. The goal is to keep young women in school. The kits are
distributed all over the world where there is a need.
● Skating on Maki Rink (weather permitting)
The Maki Rink volunteer team has been hard at work this winter maintaining the ice. Usage of the rink will be weather dependent the day of the event. Maki Rink is sponsored by Tim Hewson (Agent613.ca) and the entire Maki Rink crew.
● Games with the Scouts
Participate in some fun and games outdoors with the Scouts in Maki Park!
● CBLCA colouring contest
Visit Gravelle Room to colour a Winter Carnival scene for a chance to win a Crayola Mess-free colouring
set. Winners will be notified.
● Fire pit
Take a break to warm up by the fire and roast a marshmallow!
