New rules at outdoor rinks:

Effective Friday, January 8 there are new rules applicable to the Maki and Lakeview rinks.

  • No hockey sticks, pucks, or other team sports are permitted on the ice, and skaters must maintain a two-metre distance from people outside their household.
  • Maximum capacity of 25 people on any one of the boarded rinks, and less on the puddle rinks (2m separation between skaters).
  • Masks are mandatory within 15 metres (50 feet) distance of the edge of the ice surface. Masks are not mandatory while skating but are highly recommended.
  • Skaters who are not from the same household must keep two metres apart on and off the ice.

Please help keep our community spaces safe and our rinks open. Please also respect our volunteers who will ensure people are aware of these new rules.
