Suspension of Parks & Rec programs, use of Maki House and neighborhood park closures

Please note that Maki House and Maki Park, along with Lakeview and Corkstown Park, remain closed until further notice. Closures apply to:

  • All recreation programs at Maki House/Maki Park
  • All meetings in Maki House
  • Use of outdoor play structures & swings
  • Sports fields (baseball diamond)
  • Picnic tables and benches

Outdoor play structures are not being sanitized and could potentially spread the Covid-19 virus. For more information regarding City of Ottawa parks and green space closures, please visit this page on the City’s website.

The parks will remain open to walk or jog through, provided that social distancing (keeping a 2m distance from others) is maintained. Unless you are ill, or under self-isolation under the Quarantine Act, you can still go outside for walks. Ottawa Public Health recognizes it is important for mental and physical health. Make an effort to step aside, and pass others quickly and courteously.
