The CBLCA has learned that OC Transpo is closing the Transitway from Holly Acres Road to Moodie Drive, as it was mentioned in the last newsletter. This will include closure of Moodie station to enable conversion of the Transitway and station to LRT use. The closure is scheduled to begin September 5, 2021, and last for approximately three-and-a-half years. Buses now using the Transitway will be rerouted onto Highway 417. Moodie station stops eastbound and westbound will be moved to Moodie Drive, at the highway 417 off-ramps.
What is missing from these plans is a strategy about how transit users within Crystal Beach Lakeview are to connect to the altered routes.
As part of our work, the CBLCA’s Transportation, Transit, and Infrastructure Committee needs to better understand the wishes of our community, especially with respect to accessing public transit. Note, however, that we cannot guarantee to make those wishes a reality!
If you use Moodie station, please, help us work better on your behalf, by answering the following questions. Answer them as you would “in normal times,” not as you would during a pandemic.
