It’s been a fantastic start to the summer season (if you like heat waves like me), and it’s been so nice to see so many folks walking around the neighborhood and Dick Bell/Andrew Haden parks. I’m a big fan of seeing families out picnicking as it reminds me of childhood days spent at Spingbank Park in London ONT. As we’re spending more and more time outdoors it’s always a good reminder to make use of the public garbages to dispose of your waste and minimize the general litter in our neighborhood. I have noticed that at Dick Bell park in particular, there’s an insufficient quantity of garbage for current usage, and would encourage residents to lodge supporting complaints to the city to the same effect.
A gentle reminder that there’s the Crystal Beach Canada Day block party coming up July 1st on Ullswater/Roche for those that would like to come out and celebrate with the neighbourhood. There will be music, games, and a wonderful firework show to end the night. Everyone’s encouraged to bring a lawn chair and their favorite BBQ dish! Donations welcome!!
Also, a quick note that the CBLCA will be taking a recess for the summer and we won’t be putting out our next newsletter until the fall. Our next AGM will be in October (details to follow) so if you’re thinking of getting involved that’s a great time to step forward.
Have a wonderful summer!!!
Sincerely,
Nicolas Martinez – President CBLCA
