Once again, the swift collective action of CBL residents has made an impact! As a direct result of our engagement on this issue, MP Anita Vandenbeld has been in touch with Minister Anand and the NCC about the proposed MTO yard on Moodie. She has received reassurances that the NCC will be writing to MTO to ask them to remove NCC sensitive lands (ie: this location) from their shortlist.
About 100 residents submitted individual letters directly to the MTO and Dillon Consulting (and cc’d CBLCA). You can read CBLCA’s official submission here.
381 residents responded to the online survey, with 99% indicating their opposition to the proposal.
CBLCA also engaged with the Ottawa Carleton Wildlife Centre, Rocky Point Community Association and Crystal Bay Community Association to align our messaging; each of these stakeholders also submitted their own responses.
Thanks to everyone who made their voices heard and contributed to this positive outcome!
Great job by the CBLCA and the community on this issue! Fast work!
