The applications for the Ottawa West-Nepean federal youth council are now open!
Are you interested in politics? Do you have a great idea for the federal government? Then join the the Ottawa West-Nepean federal youth council! This council functions as a non-partisan advisory board to the Member of Parliament for Ottawa West-Nepean, Anita Vandenbeld. She wants to hear your ideas, questions and solutions on policy areas that matter to you.
The goal of this youth council is to create a platform for youth who are interested in politics to share their ideas amongst each other and with the federal government. The youth council will advise the local Member of Parliament on issues that are of importance to them. They will also get the opportunity to attend parliamentary events, work on legislation and organize activities based on their interests. This council will meet once every 1 to 2 months.
Eligibility
To join the Ottawa West-Nepean federal youth council, you must be:
- a resident of Ottawa West-Nepean
- 16-24 years old

Prior experience in politics or other extracurricular activities is not required. Selection will be based on your motivation and ideas. Applications close February 14th, 2020. The first meeting will take place in March 2020.
