One of the great attributes of the Crystal Beach Lakeview community is the number of birds that cross our paths on a daily basis. This time of year, particularly, sometimes they cross our path in dramatic fashion and they are injured and need help or, sadly, are killed.
If you come across an injured bird, a great west-end resource is the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre on Moodie Drive. The Wild Bird Care Centre is Ottawa’s only rehabilitation centre exclusively dedicated to wild birds. The Centre has been operating in the Stony Swamp Conservation Area since 1991, and is the oldest rehabilitation centre in the Ottawa region. It is a registered charitable organization funded primarily by public donations.
