Friendship Club
The Friendship Club meets Tuesday afternoons at Maki House, usually at 1:30 p.m. We welcome all residents for social events and to learn about a variety of topics through discussions, speakers, and visits to places of local interest. We also enjoy gathering together for coffee, conversation, and board or card games.
The club welcomes anyone in the community who would like to speak to us about their favourite subject. In the past we have had speakers on gardening, history, travels, local real estate, dementia, finances and other subjects.
Socials include a Halloween Potluck, Christmas songs, Pancake Day Lunch and St. Patrick’s Day Irish singalong. We have visited local museums, historical sites and natural areas.
This is a casual group with no membership fees (just a toonie in the toonie Tin). Watch for our current events on this website and join us anytime an event interests you.
Want to be included on the Friendship Club’s email list? Get reminders and updates throughout the month, or send ideas for outings or guest speakers by contacting club organizer, Judy Leeson: jleeson@bell.net.
