I would like to thank all those who came out to the Annual General Meeting for the Crystal Beach Community Association. We ended one year and started the new year with a productive AGM, with over 70 residents working together to forge new ideas and concepts for our community. We will be compiling the information and releasing it to the community in the coming weeks. In case you missed this discussion, we have created a survey to collect your input online.
I would also like to thank the outgoing members of the CBLCA: Monica Patten (President), Ian McConnachie (TTIC Chair), Carl Wimmi (Zone 3 rep), Peggy Mcgillivray (Past President) and Susie Crowe (Parks and Rec). Their contributions helped propel the CBLCA further ahead in its ambition to be a strong proponent of community issues and social engagement. CBLCA was fortunate to attract a number of new faces, (and one returning member), who will inject some new ideas and points of view into the Executive. The full 2019 exec team can be found on our About Us page.
Rest assured that we will continue to monitor the various issues in our corner of Ottawa such as; development of the LRT2 project, the evolving DND headquarters at the Carling campus, and the drainage ditch issues in the community. We will continue our work with the City of Ottawa with regard to the Cash In Lieu (CIL) and other municipal issues. We will also continue to encourage resident-led initiatives for social events such as the spring cleanup and summer street parties. If you have any ideas for the CBLCA or want to help out, just let us know.
