CBL Refugee Group Reception

Sunday, March 25, 2-4 p.m.
Maki House

Join us in officially welcoming this special family–Marah and Aya, their mother Amoun, and their uncle Basel–to their new home. There will be fun and games for the kids, coffee and home baked treats to enjoy! We will also be running a “toonie raffle,” with great prizes to be won courtesy of local businesses.

Everyone is welcome to drop by. No RSVP necessary. However, if you already know that you will attend, or if you have any questions, send a quick email to Carol Ann MacDonell at carolann123@rogers.com.

Hope to see you there!

  1. Where does this family live and where do the children go to school? Are they within CBLCA area?

If they live outside our community and go to school outside our community, this should be stated.

    1. Hello Peggy. You may not recall but these are the same questions you asked me last year. I don’t think it is appropriate for me to respond in a public forum as to where anyone lives or where minors go to school. There are privacy issues that need to be considered. (Perhaps, you could check your notes). I did respond to your request last year and sent you all the addresses of all of our group who live in CBL (some of us also work in CBL). Since that time I am proud to say (and very grateful) that our ranks have swelled with hundreds of neighbours being involved in one way or another. We are very fortunate to live in such a generous community. BTW, we are entering an exciting phase of the sponsorship where we are looking for a permanent residence for the family.
