Calling Green Thumbs: Tree Planting in the Greenbelt

*DUE TO LIMITED SPACE AND A HIGH LEVEL OF INTEREST, PLEASE CONTACT OCWCEDUCATION@GMAIL.COM TO CONFIRM YOUR PARTICIPATION*

Community members of all ages are invited to take part in a tree planting event sponsored by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, in partnership with the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre. Your help is needed to plant 150 trees and shrubs to improve the wetland area around “Pond 3.”

WHEN: Thursday, May 9th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A number of trees were lost around Pond 3 during dredging work. By coming out to help this Thursday, you can help send a message to federal and municipal levels of government that we value this core natural area and that it is important to our community.

The plan is to meet up at the corner of Corkstown and Moodie Dr. Look for a truck parked near the Watts Creek pathway, which will be distributing the trees, shovels, work gloves and snacks/water. Please consider coming by bike, as there is limited parking at this location.
