Britannia Winter Trail

Have you been looking for somewhere new to cross-country ski, snowshoe, or take a winter wonderland walk? Britannia Winter Trail (BWT), a not for profit association, has been formed to create a winter experience in the Britannia area.

BWT will be launched as a pilot project this month, allowing winter enthusiasts to enjoy a groomed multi-purpose 6 km multi-purpose trail that runs between the Belltown Arena, Britannia Park/ Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre to Sir John A Macdonald Parkway along the Great Trail (TransCanada).

For more information on the trail, follow the Britannia Winter Trail Facebook page.

BWT volunteers will also be at the Winter Garden Party (City of Ottawa’s event), Feb. 16, 10:30-2 pm at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre to share more information about the winter trail.

  1. Beautiful initiative.
Interesting add on would be, in the future, to connect the trail to the new train stations, so that skiers an snowshoers may get a nice warm up before going on the train. Joining with the Lincolnfield bs station would already be great.
