About CBLCA’s Past President
Peggy McGillivray has lived full time in Crystal Beach/Lakeview since 2006, but has been involved with the community since the 1970’s through an aunt living on Horner Drive. In her past life, Peggy was an Ottawa high school special education teacher, an international school teacher, a diplomat’s wife (47 years), President of Britannia’s community association where she was able to block the proposed highway bridge to Quebec through Britannia’s Mud Lake and then ironically, a member of CBLCA’s transportation committee that blocked Holly Acres Road from becoming the newest suggested bridge routing to Quebec.
More recently Peggy took on elected responsibilities with CBLCA as Secretary, and later as President. Currently Peggy’s non-elected CBLCA role is that of Past President. Peggy initiated CBLCA’s “Wheel Day” sale, “Family Day”, “RD Breakfast Group” and numerous social activities, while increasing the number of executive positions to aid the renewal of CBLCA’s written constitution and its community communication system.
Peggy is an environmentalist, cyclist, skier, and hiking enthusiast. She is also a widow, and mother of four grown children – one of whom lives on Horner Drive.
